I’ve gone a little colour crazy with Cupcakes & Candy Factory Background¬†by Inky Impressions¬†using Copic Ciao Markers, adding Liquid Pearls for texture on the icing. There’s so much amazing detail I just had to!I picked out the colours in these fabulous freebie papers.A strip of cotton lace has been attached to the under side of the triangular piece,to replicate the frilliness of the doilies, and I dug out these nice, shiny buttons. They look a bit like sweeties too ūüôā I stamped and fussy cut the sentiment, leaving it plain so it stood out from the patterned paper.I chose the cardstock as not only was it the perfect shade of minty green it also has a pretty¬†shimmer to it ¬†ūüôā

For my card I’ve used the totally delicious Ice Cream Girl by The Sugar Kissed Cottage¬†and coloured her with Copic Ciao¬†Markers. To give her a more realistic textured ice cream I used some Liquid Pearls.I chose some vintage looking papers to go with this cutie. After fussy cutting her I mounted her on some foam tape onto some die cut layers.I cut some slits in the kraft piece to thread the lace¬†through to allow her something to sit on.I tied a bow topped with a punched¬†flower and¬†threaded¬†button¬†¬†and added them to the lace strip.Another¬†threaded button has been adhered to the stamped sentiment.

Choco-purple-icious love!

It’s Dawn’s first time hosting and providing the sketch this week at Willow Sketchie Challenge. Here’s a peek at her fabby sketch :

And the theme is With Love – Hearts.Don’t forget you can follow the sketch and or theme. You could be the lucky winner of a voucher to spend at¬†Willow Designs¬†too! As well as a winner (chosen randomly) there will be a hand picked¬†Top 3 and they will¬†receive¬†a super cute badge for their blog.Don‚Äôt forget to stop by the challenge site and check out my fellow DT‚Äôs beautiful creations.A truly¬†inspirational bunch.

For my card I’ve used I LOVE¬†Chocolate¬†digital stamp¬†¬†from Willow Designs. You get both the pre-coloured and black and white outlined images for your money – great value!I’ve used the pre-coloured image and dressed it up with some Liquid Pearls ‘white chocolate’ piping and Glossy accents on her shoes.I was going to use the Glossy Accents on the sweetie wrapper then it hit me out of the blue – or should that be purple!!To give a more authentic crinkly wrapper feel I reached for the Crackle Accents.Think purple Quality Street! If you don’t know what these are Google ’em and it will all be clear. Here’s a closer view :

Sadly the Glossy Accents appear to be shy :¬†‚ąę

I cut around the edges of the image to slip in parts of my wonky hand cut heart frame. And yes,it was¬†deliberately¬†wonky!Going against my natural grain where everything must be perfect and¬†symmetrical. The great thing about cutting this from corrugated card is the flexibility. It¬†certainly made life a bit easier when trying to¬†maneuver it¬†into¬†position. The sentiment is coloured with ProMarkers and I added some shiny satin purple ribbon. The backing paper is from Crazy Daisy downloadable paper collection¬†from Willow Designs.I’ve only just realised that I had threaded some heart shaped buttons with purple floss but have completely forgotten to add them to my card.Doh!

Supplies :

Image : I LOVE Chocolate digital stamp from Willow Designs
Sentiment : Imaginisce Sweet Thing Acrylic Stamp
Mediums : White Opal Liquid Pearls,Glossy Accents,Crackle Accents,ProMarkers

For my card I’ve used the very beautiful Tiffany in Spring Fashion Show¬†by Milk Coffee. She’s been printed onto linen textured card and coloured with FlexMarkers. The base for this centre step card is made from the same. The papers were a freebie from¬†¬†Simply Cards & Papercraft ¬†magazine¬†a while back and I’ve used card from my stash for the matting and die cuts.I made some¬†flowers to match the ones on her dress and in her hair.Pearls were added to the centres and to follow the theme I applied Liquid Pearls to the ones on the image and sentiment.I decided to stamp the sentiment onto pink as I thought white would be too stark.

The¬† challenge this week is Button Up (use buttons) at Craft Your Passion. So it’s time to raid your button stash! If you’d like to play along please head on over for details.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT and GDT’s beautiful creations.

We have¬†a fab sponsor too,Purple Panda.Us DT were lucky to receive an image and for my card I’ve used the sweet Baby and Fruitloop. They’ve been coloured with Promarkers¬†and the edges have been inked with Distress Inks.I’ve also created a sky using a stiff bristled brush to stipple¬†some more Distress Ink.The shape has been created with my new toy.I treated myself to a Spellbinders¬†Grand Calibur¬†and some Grand Nestabilities¬†– I deserve it!!I’ve folded a Labels 4 die in half¬†to create my base but I had to chop the tip off the bottom to get it to stand up tho’.I decided not to use any DP for a change.I had a rummage through my buttons and also managed to find some grey embroidery thread.I dug out the sentiment stamp and punched it out.It does have a border around it but because I wanted to mount it onto some card I cut it smaller.

I’m also blogging for the first time on my new computer. It was about time our Jurassic PC was put out to grass.I’m pretty impressed but it’s going to take some time getting used to methinks.I’m also missing¬†a lot of stuff from my old one still but I’m sure I’ll get there eventually – well,¬†I hope!!

Snowlar Bear

It’s a WINTER WONDERLAND over at Pear Tree Designs this week! There’s also something special going on too.As well as our sponsor The Character Cafe giving one lucky winner a $10 Gift Certificate to spend in their store there is also another prize up for grabs from the DT.It’s a Goody Bag full of crafty stash to say ‘Thank You’ to all our followers who’ve been joining us over the past year.

To play along and be in it to win it check the challenge blog for full details.Whilst you’re there why not draw some inspiration from the DT’s Festive creations!

I’ve used an Imaginisce Polar Bear stamp I bought for 99p!He’s still just as gorgeous as last year. Now,to cut down on time I tend to choose a style of card and mix it up a bit with colours/papers/stamps/embellies etc. So this wil be my signature card this Christmas.I also try to come up with a design that doesn’t use up too much DP or card but still has an interesting feature. This card has some Cuttlebug embossed acetate attached to the front (‘tho it doesn’t show too well).I’ve even made some other cards with embossed vellum too just to mix it a little further. There’s little waste as I’m stamping onto the piece of card I’ve trimmed off the base.I’ve coloured him with Promarkers, using the Blender on his body to blur any harsh lines and sat him on a snowy mound of, the aptly named,Polar White Flower Soft!

Supplies :
Image : Imaginisce Polar Expressions Collection Polar Bear
Sentiment :Imaginisce Polar Expressions Collection Merry & Bright
Mediums : Memento Dew Drops in Tuxedo Black and Paris Dusk,Promarkers,Polar White Flower Soft,Cosmic Shimmer Specialist Craft PVA glue,Inkssentials White Gel Pen (highlights on eyes and nose)

Out of luck!

All that scrumptious food and he’s not allowed any of it!

This was the second card I made using Rosie’s sketch and food theme¬†at the Let’s Get Stamping group at Craftbubble.Except this time I turned it upside down.

This is the original sketch:

The hippo is a 99p one from Imaginisce and has been coloured with Promarkers. As he’d been stamped onto patterned paper the ink tends to bleed a little so I had to do some dentistry work with a white gel pen – if only it were that simple in real life! All the papers on this card are Basic Grey Cupcake and all edges have had the Tim Holtz Paper Distresser treatment.I made a sign with the sentiment that you can buy from the Imaginisce Wild Things collection to match.I hung it from the main image using¬† an antiqued metal brad to make it look like it had been outside for a while with some of my favourite hairy string. The ice lolly is a sticker from the same paper set and I’ve used Glossy Accents drips on it ¬†for the circles on the sketch.

This card is also an entry for the following:

Cards for Men : Outdoors

Ooh La La : Bright and Cheerful

Daring Cardmakers :  Boy Zone

Stampin’ for the Weekend : Card to make someone smile/cheer them up

Birds Mellow Coffee … with Cream

I don’t know if anyone else remembers this or if it still exists?

This is a bit of a last minute entry for Die Cut Dreams Challenge with the theme Coffee and Cream. You had to use the colour combo, the drink or both. The only stamps I had were more tea than coffee orientated and I really wanted to get some ink on this little birdie from the Basic Grey Bitsy June Bug Bird Trio plus I needed something that didn’t require too much colouring.I’ ve used some Promarkers in creamy brown shades and the edge of the Nestabilities Scallop has had Desert Sand and Rich Cocoa Memento ink applied using a make-up sponge. The sentiment by Imaginisce has also had the same treatment. The gorgeous background papers are more designs by Summer Driggs. They are Brown Damask Paper and Brown Dots Paper from the Believe kit and they have also been antiqued with the Desert Sand ink.The brown card is Papermania Textured card. The cream card has been embossed with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder and inked too.I’ve also used my new E K Success Dotted Wave punch and some buttons with¬†waxed cord threaded and knotted.¬†
