Meet the adorable Happy Mouse by Fabrika Fantasy.I decided to go all CAS as this is something I struggle with and I thought if I used my Polychromos pencils  it may make my little mousie friend stand out. After colouring him with my pencils I fussy cut him leaving a little white around the edges.Setting him to one side I then pierced a border around a piece of white textured card and stamped the greeting.I made my own washi tape by adhering Scotch Magic Matte Tape to my chosen scraps of paper, burnished with a bone folder then trimmed the excess paper away.Next I soaked them in a shallow tray of water. After a few moments I gently rubbed the paper fibre from the back until I was left with the patterned transferred onto the tape. The hardest part was waiting for it to dry!Once they were they were trimmed into pennant shapes. As I was creating a banner hand stitched to the card I stuck them into place with just a little tape pen adhesive as I still wanted a little movement.Other than that they would have to be glued quite firmly into place as unlike shop bought washi tape there is no gum on the back.Black cotton was used to tie in with the ink for the sentiment. Finally I added the mouse with some silicone glue. And that’s that! This will be for my DS2’s birthday in September 🙂

How’d you like to be greeted on your birthday by this happy chappy?!Cartoon Happy Hippo Holding a Sign by Ken Benner Designs has been coloured with Spectrum Noir Pencils onto Desert Storm card along with some Soufflé pen highlights. The pencil has also been softened with the Blending  Solution and paper stumps. The sign comes plain on the original digi stamp so I added in a greeting of my own using Word 😉 The image was printed out again onto white cardstock so that it could be paper pieced to allow the wording to be more noticeable.Decided to make the base card from some more of the same cardstock and for matting the papers onto for a coordinated look.Tied some twine between the two sections, threading with a button first.A few dew drops have been scattered across the bubble-like circles on the top piece as I felt it just needed a little extra something 🙂

So bought myself some new kraft card to play with and I’m quite pleased with it.I wanted to practise colouring with my Polychromos some more and this delightful little fella,Back 2 School Bird by Just Some Lines was just the ticket. They worked a treat but I think I still need more practice…sounds like good excuse to get in some extra crafting! For the transparent parts I went for an acetate card base, epoxy button stickers and, altho’ it doesn’t show up,3D Crystal Lacquer. The problem was trying not to get a refection of me taking the pic in the acetate!Anyway I kind of went for a School/Birthday/Office Supplies hybrid -and it looks like I achieved it 😀

So,the Summer Holidays are zooming by so fast they will soon be over 😦 My youngest is feeling a little out of sorts knowing that this will be his last year at Primary before heading off to ‘Big School’.What better way to cheer him up with a card featuring this perfect image,Back to School by Crafty Sentiments. He’s been coloured with Copic Sketch and Ciao Markers. These papers seemed ideal to go with him too 🙂 I hand cut the arrow and it’s matching layer – so don’t look to closely LOL…A few brads and a paperclip tied with twine have been added.Thinking school supplies here 😉 I dug out my Dymo,as it hasn’t been out to play for a while, for the sentiment.

Happiness is a warm puppy :)

At Craft Your Passion this week the challenge is Heavy Metal. We have the fabulous Kenny K as our sponsor too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.

As soon as I saw this loveable, comical Happy Dog by Kenny K I just had to use him on my card XD Maybe it’s because he reminds me so much of my girl :

Such a happy dog 😀 She even smiles when she greets you,no,really! She is the sweetest, funniest girl

Back to the card….

I wanted to give the image a feeling of being ripped from a notebook so I printed it onto this ledger style patterned paper. He’s been coloured with soft pastel pencils to allow the pattern to show through and on his dog tag I used a silver gel pen.A spot of white gel pen picks up the shine on his nose.I did apply 3D Crystal Lacquer on his eyes and nose but I’ve failed to pick it up with the camera 😦 Of course I had to choose some tree paper to go with him 😉 Our girl doesn’t have that kind of interest, naturally, but she does make us laugh when she tries to climb up them looking for squirrels 😀 LOL (you can just see one at the right hand  top of the paper along with a little wolf type character who looks remarkably like our dog sneaking up on him – it’s OK I’m sure she will never catch one – she’s so clumsy she’d trip up before she got near!) I ran a piece of woodgrain paper through an embossing folder to create more texture. All the papers have been Distress Inked around the edges. The bottom of each piece have been torn too.Everything has been mounted onto a card blank I made from some printed kraft card.As I have way too much craft stuff so I added loadsa metal items  😉 – see details below. Along with a little paper raffia and jute twine.I stamped the sentiment unevenly on purpose, honestly, then gave the paper the same treatment to tie in with the strip on the card.
