Starburst and stripes

It’s New Release time at Crafty Sentiments Designs and here’s the fabulous Patsy & Gizmo Flag.What a patriotic pair!They’ve been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers with some white gel pen highlights thrown in.I’ve given them a bit of a grungey/vintage background to tie in with the kraft base.After die cutting them I trimmed everything down to fit into the corner and even allowed Patsy’s hair to flow over the edge.I’ve wanted to try this Starburst Background technique for a while but have only been brave enough to do so now!Don’t why I thought it would be difficult…and I actually enjoyed seeing it come together.The plan was to just select a few papers,repeating the patterns but some of the pieces didn’t work as some of the designs are directional.So I just swapped a few for some that did!After the glue had dried I cut it out with a stitch edged die and matted it onto another die cut layer.Once the stamped sentiment had been cut I coloured it with Copics to match the image.A few layered die cut flowers with flat back pearl centres decorate the bottom left corner to finish.
