Some friendly bann(t)er

cypdt25thfeb 001

At Craft Your Passion this week the challenge is Banners. We have the fabulous Birdie Brown as our sponsor too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job!

For my card I’ve used Be My Friend by Birdie Brown.Aren’t they just the cutest?!They’ve been coloured with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers with some 3D Crystal Lacquer to enhance those beautiful, big eyes.I hand cut the banners then punched some tiny holes before threading them with some jute twine.I threaded some sweet wooden buttons onto the ends.I’ve used a selection of gorgeous Boho Chic papers to go with the little bunnies, the light woodgrain is the reverse of the one in the background and provides a nice contrast I think. The burnt orange card is some I had luckily tucked away in my stash 🙂 I distressed and tore the edges to keep in with a countryside feel. The sentiment was created in my brand new, shiny toy…a Dymo Embossing Labelmaker!I remember these being so popular when I was and kid and how totally jealous I was that my brother got one for Christmas.I’ve always admired them on others papercraft projects too.Thinking how outdated these were compared to today’s technology I thought I’d pick one up fairly cheaply…WRONG!Oh my,even on that well know auction site the most basic still seemed pricey to me…until I found this baby…

It came with interchangeable wheels with different fonts/numbers.The pink one sitting in the machine even has some cute icons 🙂 Plus you get this lanyard so you can wear it around your neck…thinking Medallion Man here 😉 I may be labeling everything that doesn’t move. My doggy better look out – she’s pretty lazy!

Hey Lisa! A lot of details I love in your card… the banners cut from different DP and hung up with the cute buttons! Like the torn edge and the fact you even made a mini banner out of the Dymo labels! And of course, their eyes – nice card toots!

Great job showcasing this image. Love their shiny little eyes 🙂 The woodgrain paper is a wonderful background choice. I like the contrasting torn piece under the image. The fishtail banners are a creative choice. They look so cute with the twine through the top. Another fab card!

Such a cute card – those bunnies are *adorable* and I love the touch of gloss on their eyes.

I remember having a Dymo machine when I was about 10 and loved it. Have also rediscovered Dymo for crafting purposes. 🙂

Thanks for joining in with our Use a Digi challenge at OSAAT this week. 🙂
