Now on to my card.I’ve used this adorable Christmas Penguin from Digi Doodle Shop. Not only do you get this one you’ll receive him with a plain bauble – you can add your own message if you’d like!I’ve coloured him with ProMarkers and created some texture to his hat trims using Woodware White Fluffy Stuff.Believe me this is am amazing product -you MUST try it!I’ve defined the capital letters on the bauble with a Sky Blue Copic Atyou Spica pen before coating it in Glossy Accents.Black Soot and Broken China Distress Inks have applied to the edges. The backing piece of Core’dinations Gemstones card has been embossed with a Papermania A Silent Night folder. The edge of the vellum overlay has been punched with a Martha Stewart Aspen Edger. Some of the leftover snowflakes have been placed onto some punched from more Gemstones card using the matching corner punch.Teeny Crafts Too gems have been to the centres.More gems in the next size up have been used to cover up where I glued the vellum.Another piece of Gemstones card,in black, has been used to mount the whole image to define it from the background. A freebie sentiment stamp from a set in this month’s Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine inked with Jet Black Archival ink completes the card.

Piec(ing) and quiet

It’s Anything Goes plus Brown at Craft Your Passion this week.We have 3 fabulous sponsors ; Bearly Mine Designs,Sassy Studio Designs and Crop Chocolate .So head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at DT and GDT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job!

The image on my card is the cosy looking Cocoa Carol from Sassy Studio Designs . Now I know there are loads of computer competent people who’ve done this squillions of times and probably with their eyes shut but I finally managed to DIGITALLY PAPER PIECE!!Apart from her hair, face, hands and feet, which are coloured with Copic Ciaos and Sketch Markers,I added these delicious Cheery Days papers from Bearly Mine Designs to the digi stamp.I was delighted when I bought my new PC earlier this year and discovered I had Photoshop Elements installed on it but how disappointed did I feel that I hadn’t got the brain to use it?!So apart from manipulating the odd photo and adding a watermark I didn’t really use it 😦 But I found a great tutorial from Papercraft Inspirations and one I could understand!I didn’t realise it could be so easy.Other than fussy cutting the image at least I didn’t have to cut out all those fiddly little pieces of paper that I then lose and have to scrabble about to find nor waste valuable ink printing out several times! Her mug has been given a few coats of Clear Glaze Pen for a ceramic feel.I did print out more these perfectly colour coodinated papers to layer up on the card tho’ and added some depth by applying some Frayed Burlap Distress Ink around the edges. For some reason the card looks black but IRL it matches the ribbon.I used some 3 Birds alphabet stamps and Coffee Archival Ink to create the sentiment. The card has been finished off with some chocolate (what better!) pearls.

Some challenges this is for :
OSAAT : Use a digi
The Crafty Pad : Paper Piecing (hope this still counts.Pleeeeaaaase – I’m so happy that I did it!)

This sweet little image is Christmas Friends by Digi Doodle Shop.I’ve coloured with Copic Ciaos and Sketch Markers.Frosted Lace Stickles have been applied to the tree, the trims on her hat and jacket, under their feet and to frame the image and sentiment.I did add a little to the end of the Marianne Design Creatables Icicles but it doesn’t show too well against the pearlescent cardstock. The card base has been cut using Grand Nestabilities Scallop Square Dies and the other layers are Grand Nestabilities Square and Nestabilities Square Dies. The paper is Dovecraft Christmas Fancy and the pearlescent cardstock is Kars Christmas Collection. The sentiment, mounted onto a Nestabilities Inverted Scallop Circle cut piece,is a freebie from Digi Doodle Shop and can be found here with many others. The pale blue organza ribbon is from my stash.Always such a pretty addition, don’t you think?

A monster of a Birthday

Here’s a card I made for my DD1’s Boyfriend. The image is a freebie I picked up at Bugaboo Stamps a while back, printed onto ivory cardstock and coloured with AquaMarkers and a water brush.White gel pen was added to whiten his eyes and teeth plus the highlights on the balloon. You can just make out the Glossy Accents applied to the balloon too.The papers are K & Co and the cardstock is from my stash.I’ve used a Large Corner Rounder Punch and a Small one on the computer generated sentiment.Yup I made that one up myself!LOL.The Brads are Primary Making Memories and the string is cut from a price tag off an item of clothing.

Although I still think this looks like a kid’s card apparently he liked it!Having said that he is still a little like a kid – into his yo-yo’s and skateboarding. When do they ever grow up?!

A very special Special!

This is a special you don’t want to miss. Not only will you get these 2 adorable Christmas stamps, but by participating in this month’s special you’ll be helping save animals. Every time a customer includes our special in their purchase, $2.00 will go to “Pet Pardons”We will keep you posted (on our store front) just how much money you and I can raise for our four legged friends.

All you have to do is spend $7.00 anywhere else in our store, and you’ll get this FREE gift.

It’s a sad fact that many animals find themselves in pounds and animal shelters through no fault of their own.It would be lovely if they ALL could find new homes but unfortunately it’s just not possible. Many beautiful creatures face death because of this.Even if you can’t rehome an animal please help in just a small way to give them a better quality of life.

As well as the Special the November Sale is taking place :

Pay Digi Doodle Shop a visit. You won’t be disappointed.

Here’s a card I made using one of the Special digi stamps :

This is the gorgeous Santa & Friends and it’s been watercoloured with Whispers Brush Tip Markers.I’ve had these for years and never really got on with them so I decided to revisit them using Crafter’s Companion Watercolour card and wow what a difference! I actually coloured straight onto the card and blended out with a water brush.I added some Polar White Flower Soft to make the perfect snow.Edges have been torn using a deckle edge ruler. The sentiment is Digi Doodle Shop Circular Word Art -a freebie!Along with many others! The papers are Basic Grey Jovial, edged with Vintage Photo and Black Soot Distress Ink.Other cardstock is from my stash. All edges have had the Tim Holtz Paper Distresser run along them. The Cheesecloth arrived in the post from Ebay (sorry can’t link to the seller, they’ve sold out!) and the Making Memories Primary Brads I’ve had a while.

Some challenges this card is for :

Clear It Out : Your Favourite Holiday
Papertake Weekly : Anything Goes
Card & Scrap : Christmas
Crafter’s Companion : Let It Snow,Let It Snow,Let It Snow

Socks’ Story :

“Somebody’s sleeping in my bed.” It sure ain’t Goldilocks!LOL

This is our gorgeous dog Socks. She was picked up as a stray and for whatever reason she was never claimed by her owners. She’d been at the pound too long and the vet was called to put her to sleep.Luckily the sensible decision was made not to.She found herself at a rehoming centre and we had the good fortune to come across her there. This sweet natured, loving girl has fitted in perfectly with our family and loves everyone equally. As you can probably tell she is thoroughly spoiled and gets all the attention she deserves!
