A bigger nest

It’s all about NEW BEGINNINGS at Digi Doodle Shop’s Best this week. This is quite an open theme as it could mean a new baby, home, job, year etc.Just about new anything! So click on the link to see how to play along. You’ll get to see the DT and GDT’s wonderful creations too.

There’s the chance for one lucky person to win the generous prize of a $10 Gift Certificate to spend at Digi Doodle Shop.Second and Third place get a badge to display on their blogs. All three will be in the running to join us as Guest Designers if they wish.

The 50% off sale is still running too. Although it’s not necessary to use a Digi Doodle Shop image you do get two entries into the draw if you do.Wouldn’t now be the perfect opportunity to treat yourself to one or a few?Maybe it could be an early Christmas pressie for yourself – go on you deserve it!

For my card I’ve used Mother Bird & Babies from Digi Doodle Shop .I’ve seen this technique of colouring onto kraft cardstock and thought I’d give it a try. Here I’ve used Faber Castell Polychromos pencils and blended them with Low Odour Thinners for oil colours. These pencils are oil based rather than wax, like kids pencils.I’m a bit of a cheapskate so I used cheap cotton buds instead of a paper stump to move the colours around.I’m quite pleased at out how the colours pop but hmmmm…. think I need to hone my colouring skills a little.Maybe I’ve just gotten so used to using Promarkers.

This card is for my Niece and her DH as they’ve just moved home to accommodate their growing family.

It’s made such a refreshing change to making Christmas card I can tell you.As I’ve finally finished making mine now I suppose it’s a new beginning for me too!
