A Peaceful Christmas

Over at Craft Your Passion the lovely Lauretta has set this week’s challenge in the form of this sketch:

For more details on how to join in and grab some inspiration from the DT’s beautiful cards please click on the link above. There are some fab digi stamps waiting for one lucky winner and the chance to become a Guest Designer (look for the link under the Followers at the top of the blog).

I got to work with the very serene looking  ANGEL available from Lauretta’s Digital Stamps.I chose to use her on a Christmas card but I’m sure she would work well for ‘Thinking of you’ type cards too.I’ve used my Sew Easy Tool again on the die cut circle. This time with the Hem Stitch head.I held one of the small Standard Circles in place then went round it to get the stitches in the right place.I think it worked pretty good!I only used three strands of the floss to make it more delicate.I wish I had some metallic thread as this would look so pretty.

Hi there!

At Pear Tree Designs it’s AUTUMN this week. It’s such a beautiful time of year with the changing of the leaves and,if you’re lucky, bright blue skies ans sunshine. So let the rich colours inspire you and pop along to play.Full details are in the sidebar and don’t forget to take a look at the other DT’s  gorgeous creations.

Our sponsor this time is the fabulous One Stop Card Crafts so there’s a prize for one lucky winner!

I bought this stamp set from Funky Kits last year and have to confess I barely used it.I don’t know why?It has hedgehogs and I LOVE them! It’s a great set with lots of stamps on too. It’s on sale now so it’s even more of a bargain!

You may have noticed I have some real stitching on my card.Apart from sewing labels onto parts of my cards I usually just grab a pen and go faux.I’ve always admired people who have sewing machines and stitch so (no pun intended!) neatly.I had been seriously thinking about buying one but wasn’t sure if I could curb my craft spending enough to have the money for one, have room for it or even be able to use it!Then I saw the Sew Easy Tool by We R Memory Keepers as a TSV (now at a higher price) on QVC and thought it looked a good alternative. It does have some very mixed reviews but mine arrived just in time to make this card and I grabbed it straight from the box and put it card and paper.I found it pierced both layers perfectly although I did this free hand and you can see a few wobbles.I noticed an arrow on the wheel so used this to line up at the corners.I think next time I’d probably get the ruler out tho’!!
