Glamour Puss

The Let’s Get Stamping Sketchie Challenge was set by Lauren this week with the twist of  “A Touch of Glamour”

This is the sketch :

Lauren had kept it simple ( a bit like my own good self!) so that we could adorn it any way we chose.

I do have some stamps of glamorous ladies that perhaps fit the theme a little better but I wanted a more quirky approach. So I used this cutie from the Kiki Kitty stamp set by Pink Cat Studios. She’s been coloured with Promarkers and I’ve added some tiny nail gems to her hatband and scarf.I used a Nellie’s Multi Frame Die from the Circles set and wrapped a length of scrap ribbon through the holes. It’s a piece that holds tops on their hangers in the shops.I stamped the sentiment from the same set, mounted it onto a Sizzix Bigz Tag die cut and tied it on.The flower is a layer pulled from a giant white fabric gerbera I bought in Poundland.I trimmed some of the longer petals for a better fit then coloured it with two shades of pink Promarker followed by a coating of Crafter’s Companion Spray and Sparkle Silver Glitter Varnish.(You can just about make out the shimmer – it’s far more sparkly IRL).The papers are K & Co and the card is Papermania Textured.A Lip Pattern punch has been used on the corners. Some large gems from the Early Learning Centre are used to embellish this card.

I’m entering it for these challenges too :

Stamp Something : Celebrate Something (Birthday)

Just fair(y) you!

Another gorgeous girlie for you to meet. This little lovely is called’ Thank you very much’ and is available to download from Willow Designs Stamps.

It’s also time for this week’s Willow Sketchie Challenge. Here’s Rosie’s sketch to follow:

And a recipe for you:

1.Some embossing

2.Some holes

3.Some leaves

I’ve coloured her with Promarkers and used  a white glaze pen on her wings to give some shine and to make a change from reaching for the  glitter.

I’ve used a double embossing technique to create a frame for the fairy within the swirls. The holes have been created using a ribbon threader punch. The leaves are a leftover piece that I had die cut a while ago. They weren’t quite the right shade of green so I set to work on them with the Promarkers.

Hope you can join in the fun this week!

Diorama Queen!

I had to make a card for my son’s friend and I’ve been wanting to make one of these for ages.I knew straight away I was going to use these fab Retro Space stamps by Banana Frog.I LOVE ’em.I created the layers of the diorama card ( I changed the measurements slightly ) first using some silver corrugated  and blue leather effect card I’ve had for years in my stash – honestly! The DP is K&Co.Then I heat embossed all the elements for the card. The spaceships are coloured using Promarkers.Next I assembled the card and then adhered the cut out spaceships to some acetate strips, decided where abouts they should go and then stuck them into place.I cut out the star and sentiment then glued them onto the front of the card.

Hey presto! One boy’s card that looks quite complicated but in fact was quite easy and didn’t take much time. That’s exactly how I like to make them!

This is an entry for :

Cute Card Thursday : Boyz to Men

My time to craft : Stars and swirls

Pile it on : Boyish colours

Sophisticat : Card for a child

Stamp Something : Birthday Something

Stampin’ for the Weekend : A card for a male

It’s all there in black and white

At the Let’s Get Stamping group at Craftbubble it was Karen’s turn to set the sketch and this weeks twist was to make your own flowers:

I just had to use one of my fab new stamps that plopped onto the mat moments before making this card. How lucky was that?

She’s from a limited edition Swiss Pixie stamp kit by C C Designs that I happened to come across at All That Scraps.I thought it was pretty good value at just under £40 for the set of 4 stamp sheets including the P&P.Unforunately the offer has since expired.I was also surprised that it took just over a week to get to me – I’ve waited a lot longer for orders to travel across a few counties!

I’ve coloured her with Promarkers and although it doesn’t show too well her wings and the butterfly have clear glitter pen applied over the top.I’ve used the ‘Out of the box’ technique with an Eastern Round Nellie’s Multi Frame Die.The whole die cut piece is raised on foam tape with an extra piece under her feet to push them further forward. The patterned paper is a freebie from Canon Creative Park. The black and white card are from my stash.I’ve used a Martha Stewart Threader Edger punch and grosgrain ribbon for the strip. Both bottom edges of the layers the die cut is mounted on have been punched with  Martha Stewart’s Hydrangeas Edger.Corners have had an inverted corner punch used on them.I used the flower plate from the Cuttlebug Olivia alphabet set to cut the flowers from felt.Pearls have been added to the centres and also to the corners of the card. The sentiment is a Dawn Bibby’s Design.

I’m also entering this card in these challenges :

The ABC Challenge : T is for Thank You
