Bathtime blues

Mind you Anya looks pretty happy here. And who could blame her!

This week on Passion for ProMarkers there’s a colour challenge to use Agean,Sky Blue and Cool Aqua.I don’t know the title of this stamp as I acquired it in a swap.I decided to make her a redhead as I usually do blonde, brunette and black haired folk.I used Saffron,Spice and a touch of Terracotta. Her skin has been coloured with Ivory and Dusky Pink. The bubbles and shadowing under the bath are created with Cool Aqua and the Blender.Highlights have been added  to her hair, the bubbles and the bath using a white gel pen.The papers are K & Co,the green card is Papermania Textured.I created the pelmet with some co-ordinating paper, pink Core’dinations  from the So Mod collection and a Fiskars Scallop Sentiment punch to give a bathroom blind effect. The image has been mounted onto a Nellie Snellen die cut using foam tape.I tied a piece of rainbow organza ribbon onto the bottom corner of the die … well because I could!I adhered an acrylic dewdrop with Glossy Accents to carry through the bubbly theme.

Owldorable!

Last weeks Challenge at the Let’s Get Stamping group had the rather uplifting twist of ‘Wings’.Before you start singing ‘Band on the Run’ it’s not THAT Wings. Here’s the sketch:

I’ve stamped ‘Willow with flower’ onto card cut with Nestabilities Labels 4  and coloured her with Promarkers.I then layered her onto a Nellie Snellen die cut piece of Papermania Textured card.I cut some K & Co paper and Lip Pattern punched the corners. This was then matted onto some more Textured card and had the same punch used on the corners.I cut the slider from the same Multi-Frame Ovals set using the same card.I then cut another from white card and very carefully cut out the centre and stamped the greeting.Flowers, pearls and some ribbon that, if you look closely, has butterflies on it add the finishing touches.

Grace and serenity

Here is the sketch for Willow Sketchie Challenge:

I think Grace from Willow Designs is such a peaceful image.

I’ve never been one for using yellow on my cards too much – except maybe at Easter. But these K & Co papers have such dreamy, subtle hues I just can’t resist them.I’ve coloured her in toning Promarkers using Primrose dabbed onto an acrylic block and applied around the edges with the chisel end of the Blender to take out some of the starkness of the white card.I added a little Powder Blue around the rim of the Nestabilities cut circle.I then layered her onto some Papermania Textured card then some Core’dinations Gemstone card cut using my new Nellie Snellen dies.I’m really impressed with them!I’ve covered half of the backing paper with some creamy yellow vellum to give an even softer look, covering the glue dots with pearls.I punched some flowers from vellum too and added more pearls to the centres. The sentiment is from Hero Arts Anytime Messages clear set and has also had Primrose and Powder Blue blended around the edges.

To in-springity and beyond!

This was last weeks entry for the Let’s Get Stamping challenge at Craftbubble.

DT member Rosie set this sketch:

The twist was ‘Stationery items’.

I’ve had these Banana Frog Retro Space stamps a little while but hadn’t got round to using them – slap my wrists!!But I knew exactly how to tackle the twist incorporating them.If you’re anything like me you keep an ever growing mound of junk ‘just in case’.So I hit upon an idea that gives movement to the spaceship.First I stamped the planet and spaceship in different colours of Memento ink.I coloured the stars and dots on the planet and the rivets on the spaceship with Metallic Silver Promarker.I used a selection of Promarkers to colour the rest of the ship to match the K & Co papers.I used Spellbinders Impressabilities Circle on a piece of Core’dinations Whitewash card then sanded it lightly.I cut  the countdown number strip from the same sheet of paper and mounted it onto silver mirri board.I also threaded a length of ball chain I found in my junk across the middle.I cut a bookplate from some more mirri card and added the stamped word, from the same set, and some brads.I cut out and mounted the planet with foam tape.Next I cut out the spaceship and fixed it to the card :

Can you tell what it is yet?

I cut down a spring from the inside of a used up pen.Boy it was a tough job  – but hey someone had to do it.I used silicone glue to adhere it.

I have to admit when creating all the elements I wasn’t too sure if  they would all work together. But I do have to say I was pleased with the results.I hope you agree.

Monkeyin’ around!

At Passion for ProMarkers the theme was ‘all creatures great and small’.

This lovely digi stamp is actually a freebie from Mo’s Digital Pencil. It’s quite funny really as my youngest quite often adopts this position too!And he’s a cheeky monkey!

The only problem I had was we don’t really have much in the way of a graphics programme as my DH thinks they’re too expensive. So this was as small as I could get him.

I’ve used Ivory and Blush for the skintones plus a little Cocktail Pink for his flushed cheeks. His fur is a mixture of Putty,Tan and Caramel.I tried to get a furry effect with the pens and also feathered over the outline a little to give a more hairy look. His shorts are shaded with Duck Egg,Denim Blue and Midnight Blue.I also used a small amount of Khaki and Blender to create a shadow under him.To take away the whiteness of the card and to add to the distressed feel I also used Denim Blue dabbed onto an acrylic block and applied with the chisel end of the Blender. The papers are all Making Memories and have had the edges distressed with the Tim Holtz tool.I cut a Sizzix hinge, distressed the edges and fixed it in place with some white brads. The circles, cut from Nestabilities, are held together with I giant brad which I stamped a greeting onto using Stazon. It does say Hello Cupcake but I masked off the part I didn’t want to use first.

I did actually make this card first and although I quite like the finished result I wasn’t sure about the colouring on this image and it is quite small. The image has been coloured with Putty,Tan and Caramel for the Pink Cat Studio Kiki Kitty.I’ve used Powder Blue,Arctic Blue and Cobalt on the hat and scarf with Leaf Green for the spots. The flower has been coloured using Oatmeal and Peach. The papers are K & Co,the card is Core’dinations Gemstones. The ovals have been cut using Nestabilities and the Martha Stewart Zig Zag edge punch, large corner rounder punch and two flower punches have been used too.A length of cream organza ribbon and some Papermania Adhesive Shimmer Dots to finish.

Yes,I’m the White Rabbit!

This was a bit last minute and put together in a bit of a rush.Hence the title of this post.

This card was made for the Willow Sketchie Challenge. Here’s the sketch:

Luckily for me it was uncomplicated.I coloured one of the Oriental Delight download designs from Willow Designs with Promarkers and gave her sparkly lips and eyeshadow using Copic Atyou Spica pens.I gave her hair that shiny, freshly washed look with clear glaze pen.The papers are the free My Mind Eye that came with issue 75 Carmaking and Papercraft magazine.I think they have an oriental feel to them and suit the image I used. I’ve  used a large corner rounder punch and an E K Success Dotted Wave Edger punch. The pink card is some gorgeous Core’dinations Gemstones cut using Labels 3 Nestabilities. The image and sentiment are cut from the Large Classic Inverted Scallops Nestabilities.I’ve used  a length of grosgrain ribbon to finish.
